Catching up with CorySunday, September 09, 2007

Well, here we are just after the 53rd annual Mac Tools U.S. Nationals in Indy and the weekend didn't turn out as I was hoping, but we did qualify for the event before being beaten by the eventual winner Tony Schumacher. Our Fram/Jegs Top Fuel dragster is starting to show some signs that it wants to run some big numbers so I am very happy about that.

Now we are going to be on our way to Memphis where I won my first ever Top Fuel national event in 1992 with Jimmy Prock as my crew chief. It would be great to win this one again but with Keith Adams and Tony Shortall behind me now.

I was able to enjoy my brief time off first by going to the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course with the folks from Jegs for the coolest road track experience of my life. The driving coaches there were simply fantastic and I didn't even pile one up for once so I think they will let me go again next year.

Then I spent the weekend with my daughter and my parents and friends in Orange County.

It's back to Indy for work on Tuesday and then we'll start driving south on Wednesday. I'll catch up with you after that so until then keep it right side up and I will see you at the races.
