Well, here we are on the way to Sonoma where I understand the five-day forecast is good to go racing. Anything would be better than what we experienced in Seattle -- one of the wettest weekends I’ve ever seen in my 16 years at this game. Pacific Raceways is such a great track; I just wish we could’ve run more rounds Friday and Saturday. As it was, we had a decent pass on Saturday to qualify 11th in the only round of qualifying. We were hoping to close in on the points on Sunday so we have a lot of work to do.
Goodridge Hose and Fittings has joined us recently. They really make a first-class product and the best part is it actually reduces the weight, which as you know is all important in the nanosecond world we live in. As Goodridge says, we hope to “push the limit” with their state of the art technology.
You’ve probably heard by now that my long time friend Wes Cerny will be moving on. We’ve had some great racing together and remain the closest of friends both on and off the track. I wish him all the very best. I know this is a big opportunity for Tony Shortall and the team and we’re anxious to have our good friend Rahn Tobler join us in Sonoma as a team consultant. We’ve got three races to close the points gap on the top eight and Sonoma would be a great place to start. It would also be a great time to say thanks to our great sponsor Fram at their title race.
Come on by the pit and pick up a special collector’s edition of our hero card dedicated to our sponsors and all their loyal customers. It should be a great weekend. And do not forget to bring by a new Fram Filter to have autographed and your picture could be featured in my next blog.
Over and out,
C. Mac
