Hi blog readers. I am so sorry that it has been such a long time between updates.
Quite a bit going on the past few weeks. The first thing is I unfortunately will not be racing at the 50th anniversary Winternationals. It is sure disappointing but I was just not able to put enough sponsorship together to be able to compete in the event. I felt like my chances would be good since I won the 50th Anniversary Nationals at Pomona back in July 2002.
For now we are concentrating on a few different things one of the most important is putting together some sponsorship to race at the 4 Wide Nationals here in my hometown at the ZMax Dragway next month. That four-wide racing is going to be awesome! For anyone that has not been to the new track here in Charlotte you are really missing out, Bruton Smith has built the world's best dragstrip and if you get a chance to come out please don't miss it!
Today I went out the Charlotte Motor Speedway where the North Carolina governor signed a bill for the motorsports industry here in the state. This will give the motorsport industry more influence on government and what we can do to be good citizens. It is an honor for me to be able to serve on this committee for the governor. I was lucky enough to get a picture with her after she got finished signing the paperwork and then going for a 180-plus-mph ride in one of the Richard Petty Racing experience cars. She said it was one heck of a ride. I told her to just wait until she saw an 8,000-horsepwoer Top Fuel dragster. Somehow I have to figure out how to build a two-seat car!
Anyways , I will try and catch up again soon. Until next time.
