Hey, blog readers! LP here with a quick blog to put you all to work. First, we want to thank our friends at Gateway Int’l Speedway for putting up a really nice BRAKES sign at the track. It was the first sign on the left hand side of the track, so a ton of people over the weekend were able to see the sign and have BRAKES put in their minds. Thank you!

Now on to the work. Doug will be racing in the NHRA Circle Track Challenge on Saturday night, May 17, during the Bristol event with several other NHRA drivers. Where does the work part come in? The starting position for the race is determined by YOUR vote! The driver with the most votes will start in the pole position, with the second most popular driver starting second, so on and so forth. We want Doug on the pole, so get to work! Go vote! Check out all the details of the race AND place your vote here.

You are allowed to vote once per day until May 15, so make sure you do.

On another note, Doug’s big annual open house and car show will take place this Saturday at the shop. Everyone has certain jobs they handle on these particular days (kind of like the guys with the race car), and for this event I get to help people register their cars for the big car show. I’m a huge hot rod fan to start with, and I am really looking forward it! The turnout we had at the last car show in September was huge, and we expect this one to be just as big. Doug will be here, and I have seen him do everything at these open houses from work the parts counter to pulling parts off the shelf, so he is likely to be seen doing any combination of things on Saturday. One thing he will definitely be doing is firing up the car at high noon. Lots of people come out to see, hear and smell the car, and Doug always whacks the throttle a bunch of times to make sure they get a good taste of what Top Fuel racing is all about.

It promises to be a fun day, so if you are anywhere close, come on out and say hi. Doug Herbert Performance Parts is located at 1443 E. Gaston Street, Lincolnton, North Carolina.

Until Saturday, be good…and don’t forget to vote for Doug!
