NHRA Full Throttle Lucas Oil

The Las Vegas race is one of my favorite races of the NHRA tour. I had a wonderful time there especially this weekend, because I had the chance to spend time with my sons.

My sons love racing just as much I do. On this trip, I introduced them to some of the drivers. We also got the chance to visit the Stratosphere, where my middle son Keelan (12) had been dying to ride the Big Shot. My youngest son Kaison (8)was just a little scared (correction, a lot scared) and any one should be when you look over the edge and realize how high you are. He hasn’t gotten bitten by the excitement bug yet, but when he gets a little older, I’m sure he will. I can see it on him already.

On the flip side, it was tough, because we did not qualify. We ran pretty well on Friday but made some adjustments on Saturday that just did not fit quite well with our Chevy Cobalt. One other positive for the weekend is that Kenny Koretsky qualified on the pole. As you know, he rents an engine from us through our engine program. Thus, it was very gratifying to know that our engines are capable of running well against some of the best pro stock teams on the circuit. I know; yes, it gives my team a lot of hope! Once we get our combination sorted out, I am very confident that we will qualify and eventually have a chance to be on the pole. Congratulations, Kenny, on a great weekend!

I am now back at the shop in Holt, Fla.. getting ready for Atlanta. Atlanta is kind of like a home away from home for me. I always like to see old friends, and old team mates from Georgia Tech . It is always a lot of fun. I am really looking forward to qualifying and hopefully winning the race! Thanks for the continued support, and we are working very hard on getting things moving in the right direction.
