Hi, everyone
Well. I guess it's time to write a blog. I know I said I would update it every week, so I guess I am a little behind, and I apologize. It's been busy on the NHRA circuit as well as back at the farm.
To tell you a little bit about what is going on in my world, we just got a new addition to the family. I bought my wife Rachel a new dog. It's a Black Russian Terrier puppy. She said she wanted a guard dog since I am gone so much, but the only thing it guards right now is the food bowl.
We will see how good a guard dog she becomes. I have my doubts, but if it makes Rachel feel better while I am gone then I am all for it.
Speaking of Rachel, she is 26 weeks along and we are going for one of those 4-D sonograms. You can see all types of cool things about your baby. It even shows you how the baby might look. We are really excited. I think with my 2-year-old, the new dog, and the new baby on the way, Rachel is going to have her hands full.
At the farm we have been putting up hay. I have rolled up 508 round bales so far and am still cutting on some other farms I am leasing. I have had to wrap a lot of the hay and make haylage because it has rained so much here at home that you can't get enough hot days in a row to dry out a lot of hay.
The fun starts here in a couple of weeks when I start my second cutting and put up square bales in the barn. I hope I can talk some buddies into helping me. Either way, it will be a lot of work. I have also bought 50 bred Heffers that are going to calve out in the fall. It's staying really busy at the farm.
As you can tell, I have been talking a lot about everything but racing and that's because it has been a tough last four races, but they are behind us and I am looking forward to Norwalk. I know that we are going to turn things around and get back to running up front again in the Shelor.com Dodge. All the guys are going to be rested up and ready to go.
See you out there.
