See you at the drags...Tuesday, September 15, 2009
Happy Tuesday everyone, here's our Carolinas Nationals pre-race blog to fill you guys in on what's been happening around here. This is going to be a quick one as we're WFO getting ready for the race and I've got a lot to do to prepare

Picking up from our last blog, last Thursday I hopped on a plane to Kansas City to announce the Muscle Car Reunion and Gilby and the team made two more laps at zMax.

With our new crew chief Paul Smith calling the shots a shutoff 4.34 was our best lap and Gilby is now pumped up about the race and we're looking to make some noise in Charlotte. The guys have the rig in line up at the track and we'll park it and set up our hospitality area tomorrow morning.

I had a good time in Kansas City, one of the more unusual races I've ever announced as I had a pig come visit me in the tower. There's a bunch more stories from that race that I'll pass along next week.

I want to take the time here to give a shout out to some companies and folks who are going to help us out this weekend. Ron Hammel of 10,000 RPM has been with us for many years and he's going to buy us a set of tires this weekend, thanks Ron. His buddy Mike Stewart of Mike's Transmissions is also on board and he'll be in our pits this weekend servicing cylinder heads. Our long-time supporter Aircat Pneumatic Tools will also be along for the ride and my favorite west coast restaurant "The Lemon Leaf" will have their logo on the flanks of the Rinnai Monte Carlo too.

I also want to thank the Hampton Inn University/Charlotte for providing us rooms for the race. I'm pleased to announce that they are sold out for the weekend and many pro teams are staying there and our "Nitro Blastoff" party on Thursday evening should be big. If you're attending the race make it a point to stop by and join in on the fun.

That's it for now, gotta run. I'll be back here Monday afternoon.
