In our last blog I mentioned that I hoped it would get "back to normal" around here...How'd that work out? Not too good.
I'll tell you, this cops and robbers stuff is crazy, since we last checked in here a lot of stuff has happened.
One of the perps decided it would be a good idea to tell what he knows in exchange for only being charged with receiving stolen property. When asked where the wheels and tires were he told the cops and Gilby that they were hidden under a bridge on a rural country road. The guys went there and lo and behold, there was one set of our rear wheels and tires, we asked him where the other set was he said that he believed that they were sold last week at Shadyside Dragway, an outlaw dragstrip just down the road from our Blacksburg shop.
So last night Gilby and Rob went to Shadyside for the track's weekly test & tune nosing around and passing out flyers to the racers asking them to keep an eye out for our stuff. So lo and behold again, last night they got a call from a guy who said "Yea I bought those wheels" and he's bringing them up to Blacksburg today, don't know how much he paid for them but I'm sure we'll work out a deal with him for being so honest.
The next thing the cops asked the perp was about the clutch discs and floaters and he believed that they were sold to a local scrap yard so Gilby and the cops will be at their front door when they open this morning, I'll let you know further details as soon as anything happens.
Gotta give a big shout out to the Cherokee County (S.C.) and Cleveland County (N.C.) Sheriff Departments for all of their help the past week. Without their help we wouldn't have been able to run the Charlotte race in Sept. so thanks guys. Good news is that we did turn a lot of them into drag racing fans and they'll all be our guests at zMAX.
By the way if you know a guy nicknamed "John-John" from the Canton, Ohio area let his pals that he won't be home for a while...LOL
Back soon.
