You've got questions, we've got answersMonday, January 05, 2009

Hey everyone, Happy New Year to you all. After two weeks of goofing off for the Xmas/New Years holidays it's back to reality for everyone so let's get started.

First off I got a question from Pete Bishop from Destin, Fla. (thanks for the invite, I might take you up on your offer) who asked what I was wearing underneath my "Miss Winston" cigarette box? Answer is a pair of shorts, my cowboy boots, Groucho Marx glasses with moustache and my goofy fishing hat, that's all, why did you ask?

Next up is this from Ron Lauzier who typed:

Hey BB,

Just wanted to thank you for working so hard on getting a bunch of the "Jungle Jim" (and the great one of "Jungle Pam") photos up on your blog. Can you give us Gilby fans some inside info of what the teams plans are for 2009 and when we can expect to see the Terminator Motorsports Team running again with the NHRA in 2009?

A very good question. I talked to Gilby just this morning and here's the deal as things stand right now. We'll probably kick off our season at Gainesville, then Houston (Gilby digs Houston, he won there in 2000 and we always run good there) then Atlanta, Bristol, possibly Englishtown and Norwalk, then Indy, Charlotte, and Memphis. If any of the sponsorship deals we're working on happen we might add more races.

We've also got at least three match races in the works so we'll be burning nitro in 2009 for sure.

Now here's another scenario that might happen. Gilby has been offered a ride in another team owner's car for Pomona. There's a lot of details to work out but I'd give it a 50-50 chance of happening. That's all I can tell you right now.

One last thing, we've received literally hundreds of responses from our recent blogs about the "golden years" of Funny Cars and most of you want more. If you're a fan of the genre there's a thread over at the Classic Funny Car Board that is over 55 pages of photos of vintage Funny Cars, some of which have never been published before, check it out: http://www.classicfunnycarboard.com/cgi-bin/ikonboard/ikonboard.cgi?s=281348090c99ea2bb92d96291ee9f2ab;act=ST;f=1;t=8413
