Hey everyone, a little bit different blog for you today about Terminator Motorsports, Trick Tank and TEMCO's favorite charity, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
How we all got behind CFF is a long story, but to make it short, Gilby's nephew, Chris Stermon, who is the GM of TEMCO, has neighbors who have a daughter who has Cystic Fibrosis. As of right now there is no cure for this debilitating disease so Chris and the rest of his neighborhood decided to put on a charity event two years ago to benefit the CFF. What started as a pool party that raised $18 thousand dollars the first year, $36,000 last year has now grown into a full blown event called "Rockin' for the Cure" featuring both live and silent auctions for donated items and a performance this year by the amazing Paul Thorn Band this Saturday night here in Charlotte.
In case you don't know who Paul is I suggest you check out his website: www.paulthorn.com Paul stopped by Charlotte Monday and Tuesday to do a media tour to help promote the event. He did quite a few TV and radio interviews and he left early this morning to fly to Old Miss where he's performing at the first Presidential Debate Friday night, then flying back to Charlotte for our event Saturday night..
Anyway last night after all his media stuff was done we took him to a local bar named the Fat Parrot here in town which is our favorite local hangout. It's really a beer joint but draws quite diverse crowd. After a bit of persuasion we managed to talk Paul into getting up and performing a couple songs to the delight of the crowd. It was a good time and look for Paul to join us at a drag race real soon.

Real quick I've got to give a shout out my little buddy Mario Luther Todd Jr. I, like I'd guess a lot of you, was listening to the audiocast and cheered out loud when he beat Schumacher to end that unbelievable winning streak. Junior's name will be a trivia question for years to come.
Insert shameless plug here. I'm pleased to announce that the newest issue of Drag Racer magazine (Nov, 2008) has a real good looking guy as a new columnist and I'm thrilled to be joining living legends "Big Daddy" Don Garlits and Tom "The Mongoose" McEwen on the masthead.
Gotta run now, be back soon.
