Hey y'all, it's a beautiful Friday morning here in Charlotte and as I sit here typing this blog I realized that just two weeks from today the attention of the drag racing world will be focused on lil' ole zMax Dragway just right up the road in Concord for the inaugural Carolinas Nationals.
It will be a big weekend for everyone but especially for us as we're (in no particular order) going to rejoin the NHRA tour at a brand new track, race a brand new car with a brand new sponsor with a soon to be announced brand new (to us) crew chief.
No pressure, huh?
Anyway we're in pretty good shape. The chassis is all together and the car has an engine in it ready to start.
Yesterday morning the crew at Transport Graphics started installing the Rinnai wrap on our Monte Carlo and we picked it up last night about 8 o’clock. We'll be adding some more graphics and the contingency decals to finish up the body. I'll post a photo of the finished product next week.
Check out the sign in the background of the bottom photo, kinda funny huh?
Uniforms, tickets, hospitality, handouts, catering and all the other stuff that has to be done is on schedule and I've got to thank Gilby's nephew Chris, Gilby's son Rob, and our graphics guy Rich Singer for all their help with what it takes to put this whole deal together.
Gotta run now, type at you L8R.
