Wild Humpday Blog...Wednesday, August 20, 2008

Hey everyone, Double-B with ya and I'm sitting here in my home office this afternoon trying to absorb everything that happened around here today at the world headquarters of Terminator Motorsports.

Wednesday morning kicked off with me making a early visit (7:30 a.m.) to Gilby's office in downtown Charlotte to hook up with him before it got crazy down there. We talked a lot about our plan for the Charlotte race (that starts three weeks from tomorrow) and the press release that we're going to put out Friday revealing our new one-race sponsor/marketing partner for the Carolinas Nationals. Remember where you heard it first...

Then I took off to the new zMax Dragway in near-by Concord, N.C. for the ceremonial ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10:30 a.m. Ran into an old friend, Victor Cagnazzi, he and I go back many years (30) when we were both involved in racing in the Northeast. It was cool to be able to spend some time with him and he wanted to be in our blog, here you go Vic...

Dave Connolly and Jeggie did a ceremonial burnout through the ribbon to officially open the track with fireworks in the background.

Vic had another race-ready Pro Stocker in the pits wrapped in Jack Daniel's livery, wonder why?

I also ran into Tom Compton of NHRA and Marcus Smith of SMI. They're both cool guys and I told them that I predict that the race will be one of, if not the biggest, inaugural race in NHRA history. Time will tell.

Then here's where it gets crazy, Wilber might have his cats to greet him when he gets home but when I arrived home today I found this frog waiting for me. He was chasing my Roomba iRobot vacuum cleaner around the house, craziest thing I've ever seen.

I moved him into our outdoor pond, not as big as Wilber's but it will give him a good home. By the way his name is "Stains."
