Hey blogs readers, Gilby here. It's been awhile since I typed one of these so here you go.
Seems that the first six months of the year flew by, here we are in July already. We have been to eight races so far this year and it seems between rain and the new NHRA Friday qualifying rule we have not done so well.
As Berserko mentioned in a previous blog we have to take a time out for awhile for a few reasons. One reason is that the new NHRA chassis rule is right around the corner and we have to get the cars updated. Number two is my tank business is going through some growing pains that need my attention every day. Part of that is that our new e-commerce page is up and running on www.tricktank.com That's where you fans can find our Tradicion Azul Tequila t-shirts along with Trick Tanks and our new product for the motocross and dirt bike market, the AIRSTAND. We will keep you posted on how all that goes.
Changing subjects: July 4th every year is always a big event for the Gilbertson's and this year is no different.
My wife Sally, daughter Sandy Ann and son Jake all packed up and went to the Oregon coast (where we're from) for the annual fireworks/big show there in Seaside, Ore. This year for me it's different, I'm here in N.C. working at the plant . So with no racing on the weekends I have found myself with some extra time. For many months I've had a honey-do list from "the mother" (Sally) that I finally can get started/done.
One of the items on the list was get rid of our older style 52-inch projection TV that takes up lots of room and replace it with a wall mounted flat panel HDTV. So I go to the nearest Wal-Mart looking for a deal on one of these TVs. I find what I need and they get the pallet jack and bring out this humongous box, I look at it and said to myself "Is that Ashley Force on the box?" As they get closer to me, yep, sure is.
So after the installation and since I was all alone, Ashley and I turned on the new TV and watched; Nacho Libra. This 52-inch Sanyo TV is great. I'll have to dig out the tape of me beating Ashley from somewhere last year and watch it with her ... LOL
