Hey everyone, BB here once again with the news you need to know.
As you're probably aware by now there's a new dragstrip being built here in Charlotte to host the inaugural Carolina's Nationals. Everyone here in town is getting jacked up about the NHRA tour coming to town including all of us here at Terminator Motorsports since it's going to be the next NHRA race we'll be competing at.
Me, I've been working real hard the past week lining up a plethora of local sponsors who will be supporting us for this race and when everything is finalized I'll let you know about all of them but I can tell you this, if you're coming to the race with our sponsor's help we'll be able to help you save some $$$.
One of the cool things is the billboards promoting the race that are popping up all over Charlotte. I've seen four so far in my travels and I'm sure there's a lot more out there.
I went out to the track today to check what's going on and let me tell you something, this is going to be the nicest track on the circuit. The construction supervisor told me that they're way ahead of schedule and if you want to see the latest photos of the progress go here.
In other news as I type this our Asstistant crew chief Kevin Fenstermaker is in beautiful Lafayette, Ind. at Murf McKinney's shop where the chassis is getting the latest updates so that we can run the race. Murf and his gang have a lot of work to do to get the car ready but they tell us they'll have it done in time, I certainly hope so.
One last thing, in a previous blog Gilby talked about his new TV and how he watched the movie Nacho Libre starring Jack Black. Well the WWE came to town last night for a taping of "Smackdown" which will be televised Friday night.
While looking through coverage of the event this morning on the Charlotte Observer's website I ran across this photo and if you look closely you can see a guy who could be Gilby's stunt double sitting in the front row. I'm going to try to find who he is for a "separated at birth" feature for this blog.
That's it for now, type at you soon.
