Hey everyone, Double-B with you. To start off I've got to apologize for not blogging in a timely manner but it's been a little bit crazy around here, my bad.
Reason being that we've all been working really hard on the new e-commerce store on our website. It's where you can find everything Terminator Motorsports, Tradicion Azul Tequila, Trick Tank and AIRSTAND. Since it went live last week, and without any advertising, except for a mention here and in a press release I sent out, the store has been pretty active. We've sold a few of our racing shirts already and I want to thank all of you who stopped by. Check it out, we'll be adding new products every week. www.tricktank.com
I slid by Gilby's office today and right when I walked in saw the newest product, the 3.5 gallon vertical Trick Tank. This was an idea presented to us by Pro Mod driver Quain Stott who wanted a tank that took up less floor space in his trailer and also on his golf cart so Gilby built it.
Okay enough shameless plugs, let's get to racing...
As you probably know our crew chief Nicky Boninfante Jr. put together a nostalgia Funny Car for his dad "Nitro Nick" to fool around with. The U.S. Male made it's public debut Wednesday at one of Englishtown's mid-week shows and was a big hit with all the fans. They match raced Jake Crimmins' winning both rounds with a best of 6.40 on its maiden pass.
The rag-tag crew consisted of (left to right) our team chef Edzo Preston who flew up from Florida for this race, Nicky, his dad "Nitro Nick", Johnny Hulme and the car's original driver back in the 70s Pat "Mousie" Walsh. Paul Lee drove the car at E'Town but Mousie is looking to slide behind the wheel and upgrade his current license to blown fuel and that should happen soon.
That's it for now and as we're skipping the Western Swing, I, like the rest of you who can't be in Denver this weekend, will be listening to the audiocast and wondering what the 1,000-foot numbers for Funny Cars will be in the "high air" of Denver. Should be an interesting weekend for the nitro cars.
Type at you L8R.
