Well, here we go again...

After last weekend's blog was published the old Inbox got another workout from more fans who can't get enough "Jungle," so here's a few photos I think you might enjoy

First up, courtesy of Bill Truby, is "Jungle's" wife, Bobbie Liberman.  Bobbie went on the road with JJ on all of his East Coast tours in the late '60s and early '70s.  I've got to admit, a very young Berserko Bob had a crush on her from the first time I met her in 1969 and so did a lot of other race fans.  She almost always got dressed to the nines to go to the track and once even went to the starting line in a bikini and spiked heels!  Needless to say "Jungle's" pit was very crowded between rounds after that. 

Next, here's a shot of a very young Double-B decked out in his best white announcer outfit (it was "the look" back in the '70s) with Bobbie doing a drawing for a "Jungle" go-kart that was given away to a lucky fan.  Bobbie and "Jungle" split up sometime in the early '70s but I kept in touch with her until the time of her passing a few years ago.  I had a lot of fun with her and "Jungle" and I miss them both.

Now, here's a shot of "Jungle" in his 1969 Nova.  Compare it to today's Funny Car cockpits; quite a difference, huh?  Minimal roll cage, round steering wheel, and his knees up in the air without any protection. Remember this was almost 40 years ago!  "Jungle" was always flashing the V for victory or peace (you decide) sign and there's a ton of photos out there of him doing it.

As I sit here typing this blog I got an idea.  If any of you readers out there have your own photos of "Jungle" that you would like to share, just send them along to me at the email address above and I'll post them for all to see.  Also, if you have your own "Jungle" story, shoot me an email; I'd like to hear each and every one of them.
