Hey everyone, your old pal BB here with a blog about "what I did last night" that I think you might enjoy and my OCIR memories...

There's a local bar and grill right down the street from where I live that threw a Halloween party. They put up cash prizes for the three best costumes so I decided to resurrect something that I did years ago, have some fun and see if I could make a few bucks in the process.

So what you're looking at is a completely mobile, sell-propelled, high-tech Mammogram Machine. mammograms cost a lot of money but not mine and I spent the night offering free mammograms to every woman in attendance It was a lot of work but you know me, I'll do anything for women's health issues and I came away with the third place money ($50). By the way, the Witch and the Elf had clean bills of health...LOL

Now let's get to OCIR. I'm sure you're aware that the esteemed editor of this Web site, Phil Burgess, has been penning a DRAGSTER Insider recently about Orange County International Raceway.

My first visit to OCIR was in 1968. I was on my way home from Vietnam and we landed at the nearby El Toro Air Base. After processing we got a 30-day leave, most everyone hopped on a plane and went home but me and a couple buddies of mine decided to hang out in SoCal for the weekend, do some sightseeing and our first stop was OCIR. We took in a race and had a blast at my first west coast race.

Then a few years later I joined the "Jungle Jim" Funny Car show and returned to the left coast during the winter of 1970-71. Back then the biggest race of the season for the touring Funny Cars was the Manufacturers Championships at OCIR and I was there.

I always had one of those cheap little Kodak Instamatic cameras in my pocket and I apologize about the quality of these photos but here's two shots from the 1970 Manufacturers Championships 38 years ago. Some more photos from that race and other OCIR memories can be found at http://silverstone.fortunecity.com/bonneville/218/ocir01/

If anyone ever invents a time machine will you let me know?
