Hey everyone, I hope all is well. It’s been awhile, so I wanted to send a quick blog update. I had the big challenge of moving to my new house in Las Vegas. That’s why I’ve been so busy. My old house was on the South side of Las Vegas. I lived there for the last four years. It was a nice house, but had no lot. I got a great buy on a really nice house in Summerlin, which is a nice community outside of Vegas. I’m really excited about the new house, but you forget how much is involved in moving.
When I was ready to move, someone said to get on Craigslist to find some boxes, so I bought a bunch of boxes for $50. I started packing up each room. It took me almost four days to box everything up. I used a cool moving company called Two Men and a Truck. Once I got everything to the new house, I realized how much work it is to get everything unpacked and organized. Then I had to switch over all the utilities. I’m about half complete with the move, but there’s still plenty to unpack. Now, I have a really nice trophy room for all my racing memorabilia. My other house wasn’t big enough for that. Now I can have a nice room dedicated to racing. I’ll send some blog photos once I get all moved in.
My parents were in town for the Las Vegas Thanksgiving bracket race at LVMS and at the last minute, I decided to race, too. I had no practice runs or time trials and I jumped into Tony’s Super Comp dragster and went up and raced. Of all the people I had to race, was one of the best young racers, Justin Lamb, from Las Vegas. I used to work with him back in the day. He went red and it gave me a chance to get a nice lap in. The last time I raced a Super Comp car was two years ago at the same bracket race. The next round, I was matched up against two-time champ Shawn Langdon. He’s the best guy out there these days. I had a great light and got the jump, but I left off the throttle too soon and he passed me at the stripe. It was a cool time to be back in the car and racing with my family again. It gave me the bracket racing bug again. I really miss it.
I’ll head to Arkansas for the holidays to spend Christmas with the family. I’ll have a lot of fun things to do there with my family and my good buddy Chad. I’ll check back with some holiday stories. Take care.
