INDIANAPOLIS - The first day of racing is complete at the NHRA North Central Division Summit Racing Series finals at O'Reilly Raceway Park. The first round of winners in the VP Racing Fuels Race of Champions were crowned with Corey Landolt, Greg Dillman, Steve Foley and Nate Garrison taking home trophies.

Landolt of Hermann, Mo., racing for Gateway International Raceway, made a pass of 4.857 seconds at 139.00 mph to defeat Dave Phillips of Lancaster, Ohio in the Summit Super Pro category.

In Summit Pro, Dillman of Greenwood, Ind., racing on his home turf, O'Reilly Raceway Park, outran the field with a pass of 9.270 seconds at 54.80 mph in his '67 Camaro. Dillman defeated Randy Carnal of Evansville, Ind., racing for Chandler Motorsports Park.

Foley of Barbourville, Ky., was also crowned a champion racing for London Dragway in Summit Sportsman. Foley outran Dave Schroeder of Catlettsburg, Ky., who is racing for Bluegrass Raceway Park.

Finally, Garrison of Logansport, Ind., running in the Summit Super Pro Motorcycle category outlasted the field with a pass 9.314 seconds at 137.89 mph racing for Bunker Hill Dragstrip.

Racing continues Saturday as the battle for individual honors begins. Gates at O'Reilly Raceway Park open at 7 a.m. both Saturday and Sunday. Time trials continue Saturday at 8 a.m. and eliminations for all categories will start at 1 p.m.
