KENT, Wash. - The best racers from across the NHRA Northwest Division will converge on Pacific Raceways to compete in the NHRA Summit Racing Series Division Finals September 9-11. Teams of top points-earning drivers in six categories will represent NHRA Member Tracks from around the region running for individual and team honors. Drivers in the Super Pro, Pro, Sportsman and Motorcycle/Snowmobile classes will compete for cash awards of $10,600. Drivers in the High School class and two NHRA O'Reilly Auto Parts Jr. Drag Racing League categories will race for trophies.

Gates at Pacific Raceways open at 7 a.m. each day. Time trials begin at 9 a.m. Friday and continue Saturday at 9 a.m. The Race of Champions, a race within a race which pits the track champions in Super Pro, Pro, Sportsman and Motorcycle/Snowmobile classes in head-to-head competition, will run Saturday beginning at 1 p.m.

The individual winners of the Race of Champions will advance to a national run-off at the NHRA Auto Club of Southern California Finals in November where they will square off against winners from NHRA's other six divisions for a winner-take-all purse of $5,000. Those racers will each also receive $3,500 for running in the NHRA Finals in Pomona.

The team from Woodburn Dragstrip in Woodburn, Ore., took the NHRA Summit Racing Series Northwest Division championship at last year's event which was held at Mission Raceway Park in Mission, B.C. It was the second win in as many years for Woodburn Dragstrip. class. The 2004 individual champions were Tim Schillereff in Super Pro, Jerry Gossette in Pro, Jody Lang in Sportsman, and Roger Wolff Motorcycle/Snowmobile
