Racer soundoff: Extended Technical Inspection
03/19/2004
With the 2004 season kicking into high gear, the NHRA Technical department is reviewing areas that help make for a smoother race weekend from the national level to the local track. Once such area is the Extended Technical Inspection (ETI). The inspection process allows a racer to have his or her race vehicle thoroughly inspected on an annual basis and offers the opportunity to move through the technical lines at a quicker pace.
This week, the NHRA Technical department is soliciting opinions on improvements to the ETI program that the racing public will utilize the program in larger numbers.
Some of the directions that the Technical department has considered include extending the expiration period of the ETI form to a two-year cycle, allowing for amendments to the current ETI, or opening the ETI program to a single ETI than can be used on the national, divisional, and local level.
Send your opinions and other possible directions that would generate more racers to use and better understand the ETI program to racerinput@nhra.com.
