Federal-Mogul renews support of NHRA racers

2/20/2004

Federal-Mogul Corporation has renewed its commitment to National Hot Rod Association professional and sportsman drag racers through contingency awards sponsored by the company's Sealed Power engine systems, Fel-Pro gaskets and Speed-Pro engine parts brands.

The Sealed Power engine systems brand renewed the divisional event cash rewards to the top qualifiers in each of five NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series Sportsman categories. In 2004, the Sealed Power Low Qualifier Bonus will be awarded at Lucas Oil divisional races only. These divisional-event postings, include $1,000 each to the top qualifiers in the Top Alcohol Dragster (TAD) and Top Alcohol Funny Car (TAFC) categories, $200 to the top qualifiers in Comp and Super Stock, and $100 to the Stock category's top qualifier.

Fel-Pro gaskets will support NHRA professional and sportsman drivers through a broad contingency package covering national and divisional competition. Fel-Pro will pay out $500 and $100 per event to the winners and runners-up, respectively, in the Top Fuel, Funny Car and Pro Stock professional categories. Other Fel-Pro national-event postings include $300 and $100 per event to the winners and runners-up in TAD, TAFC, Super Stock, Comp, Super Gas, Super Comp, Stock and Super Street. The brand's sponsorship package also includes $50 and $25 postings, respectively, for the winner and runner-up in each of the nine sportsman categories at all NHRA divisional events.

Federal-Mogul's Speed-Pro brand will offer contingency sponsorships for its popular piston rings and engine bearings product lines at NHRA events in 2004. Speed-Pro piston rings will post $300 and $100 winner and runner-up monies at national events in the TAD, TAFC, Super Stock, Competition, Super Gas, Super Comp, Stock and Super Street categories. Speed-Pro rings also will post winner and runner-up funds of $50 and $25 in each sportsman category at the divisional-event level.

Speed-Pro engine bearings will post $300 and $100 winner and runner-up postings on the national-event level for TAD, TAFC, Super Stock, Comp, Super Gas, Super Comp, Stock and Super Street. Divisional-event postings will be $50 and $25, respectively, to the winner and runner-up in each of the nine NHRA sportsman categories.

"Federal-Mogul's underhood brands are ideal partners for NHRA competitors," said Raymond King, the company's Director of underhood and wheel-end marketing. "Our Speed-Pro and Fel-Pro brand involvement in NHRA competition dates back decades. As a major contingency sponsor of NHRA we are pleased to reinforce our support of these dedicated, and talented, hands-on drag racers in 2004."
