Racing Electronics named NHRA's Official Radio Communications Company

Racing Electronics, a leader in providing radio communications products to the motorsports industry, has been named the Official Radio Communications Company of the NHRA, its five owned and operated drag racing facilities, and the NHRA Safety Safari, officials of the world's largest auto racing sanctioning body announced.

In the five-year agreement, Racing Electronics, Inc. will supply hand-held radios, headsets, mobile units, ancillary products, base radios, antennas, on-site setup, and support for the 23 NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series national events, and the 45 NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series divisional events through the 2008 season.

"We are pleased to welcome Racing Electronics as one of NHRA's official sponsors and look forward to a beneficial partnership over the next five years," said Bob Wagner, NHRA vice president, sales and business development. "Racing Electronics has been involved in with the motorsports industry for nearly two decades and understands the significance of communication needs among staff at one of the POWERade Series events, and the Lucas Oil Series divisional races as well. Their products enable the NHRA to continue to provide safe and exciting events that NHRA fans and sponsors expects."

In addition, Racing Electronics, Inc., will have a major presence at the NHRA Manufacturer's Midway, providing on-site sales, rentals and service of scanners, headsets and communications needs for NHRA race teams and fans.

Serving the professional driver and pit crews as well as the racing fan for over 15 years, Racing Electronics offers its customers two-way radios, scanners, headphones and headsets, as well as a complete selection of accessories and sportswear, and a guide listing the year's races and scanner frequencies for specific events.

Headquartered in Glendora, Calif., the NHRA is the primary sanctioning body for the sport of drag racing in the United States. It presents 23 national events through its NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series. The NHRA has 80,000 members and 140 member tracks. The NHRA-sanctioned sportsman and bracket racing series' provide competition opportunities for drivers of all levels. The NHRA develops the stars of tomorrow by offering the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series, NHRA Summit Sport Compact Drag Racing Series, NHRA Summit Racing Series and the NHRA Street Legal Program. The NHRA also offers the NHRA O'Reilly Auto Parts Jr. Drag Racing League for youths ages 8 to 17.
