Summit Racing Equipment continues series sponsorship and "official" status with NHRA

2/3/2004

Summit Racing Equipment has renewed its sponsorship of the Summit Racing Equipment Series as well as its status as the Official Mail Order Catalog of NHRA, officials of the world's largest sanctioning body announced.

As part of the multi-year agreement, Summit Racing Equipment will continue to sponsor NHRA's popular E.T. racing program, which is contested at NHRA member tracks across the country and culminates in a national championship at the Auto Club NHRA Finals in Pomona, Calif., in November. As the series sponsor, Summit Racing Equipment provides participating member tracks with materials to promote the series among their racers, as well as apparel for racers who compete at the NHRA Summit Racing Equipment Series Finals.

The NHRA Summit Racing Series features a bracket racing format allowing drivers in many types of cars, including dragsters, roadsters, sedans and coupes, to compete against each other. In addition to three categories of competition for cars, a motorcycle category also is featured. NHRA Summit Racing Series racers compete for points and cash awards in a number of qualifying events at 140 NHRA member tracks throughout North America. Drivers who gain the most points then compete for individual and team honors at the NHRA Summit Racing Equipment Series Finals in each of NHRA's seven divisions. Individual winners in each category receive a division trophy and travel expenses to attend the Summit Racing NHRA National E.T. Finals, where they will compete for a winner-take-all $5,000 purse.
