NHRA Awards Ceremony moves to the desert

9/21/2004

The 2004 NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series Awards Ceremony will be held at The Westin Mission Hills Resort in Rancho Mirage, Calif., Monday, November 15, 2004.

Unlike the last several years, the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series Awards Ceremony will feature a pre-event cocktail reception amidst the backdrop of the resort's beautiful scenery, a formal sit-down banquet, and an after-party at the stunning Bella Vista Restaurant.

"The Westin Mission Hills Resort is a beautiful location and will provide a fitting setting for the conclusion of the season and the crowning of our much-deserved NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series World Champions," said Tom Compton, president, NHRA.

The Westin Mission Hills Resort is renowned for its championship golf, world-class service and incomparable amenities including a Peter Dye Golf Course and the only Gary Player Signature Course in Southern California, four pools, seven lighted tennis courts and a spa, making the experience a true get-away for the NHRA racing community after a long season and hard-championship chase.

The awards ceremony is an invitation-only affair. Letters and invitations will be sent to the racing community within the next week.

The Lucas Oil Drag Racing Drag Racing Series Awards Presentation and party will take place prior to the night's festivities at the Westin Mission Hills Resort.
