Kalitta Motorsports' Grubnic signs new sponsor for final two '04 events

Kalitta Motorsports third team dragster driver "Aussie Dave" Grubnic will drive a specially painted Zantrex-3 Top Fuel dragster at this weekend's ACDelco Las Vegas NHRA Nationals at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Grubnic will also be driving his newly named dragster at the season's subsequent and final event, the Automobile Club of Southern California NHRA Finals, Nov. 11-14, in Pomona, Calif.

Longtime Kalitta Motorsports sponsors Mac Tools, Red Line Oil, Technicoat Companies, Fischer Honda and Kalitta Air will also display decals on Grubnic's new paint scheme.

Grubnic's new entry accompanies Kalitta Motorsports' two other Top Fuel entries, the Mac Tools dragster and the Mac Tools/Jesse James dragster, driven by cousins Doug and Scott Kalitta respectively.

Grubnic, a 42-year-old journeyman Top Fuel driver, is in his first season behind the wheel of the third Kalitta team car. The fan-favorite native of Brisbane, Australia, has been driving nitro rails in the United States since 1995. He has made five final-round appearances (St. Louis, Seattle, Sonoma, Brainerd, and Dallas) in 2004. He is currently fifth in the Top Fuel championship points.
