Join NHRA founder Parks, Force, and Prudhomme for breakfast at SEMA Show

10/20/2004

Wally Parks

NHRA Founder Wally Parks, 91, will talk about NHRA's past, present and future during a special NHRA Breakfast on Wednesday, Nov. 3, at 7:30 a.m. during the SEMA Show. The NHRA Breakfast will be held in Pavilions 10 and 11 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Joining Parks will be legendary NHRA drag racers John Force and Don "The Snake" Prudhomme.

Tickets for the NHRA Breakfast are free for all SEMA Show attendees and can be requested through SEMA at www.semashow.com in the Seminars & Special Events section of the Web site.

John Force

Parks, one of auto racing's greatest visionaries, founded NHRA in 1951 and worked with local law enforcement officials to get hot rod enthusiasts off public streets and onto drag strips. Parks has nurtured NHRA into the world's largest auto racing sanctioning organization with 80,000 members. NHRA's marquee $50 million POWERade Drag Racing Series crowns champions in Top Fuel, Funny Car, Pro Stock and Pro Stock Bike and is showcased via worldwide, exclusive television coverage on ESPN and its family of networks.

Force, driver of the Castrol GTX Start Up Ford Mustang, is a 12-time NHRA Funny Car world champion and the sport's most prolific winner with 113 victories. He is currently leading the NHRA POWERade Series points standings and could secure his 13th world championship title by qualifying at the upcoming ACDelco Las Vegas NHRA Nationals, Oct. 28-31 at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Don Prudhomme

Prudhomme, team owner of the Miller Lite dragster driven by Larry Dixon and the Skoal Chevy Monte Carlos driven by Ron Capps and Tommy Johnson Jr., earned four Funny Car world championships as a driver, along with 49 victories. He was the first driver in NHRA history to earn victories in both a Top Fuel dragster and a Funny Car. Known as "The Snake," Prudhomme is one of the most recognizable figures in the world of auto racing.
