With several hundred priceless items up for bids, Saturday's Darrell Russell Memorial Auction could be a record-setting affair. Organizers are working furiously on last-minute preparations for Saturday's silent and live auctions, while also partitioning off several pieces for an online auction which will take place later this month.
The silent auction portion of Saturday's event begins at 3 p.m. in the Corporate Hospitality Village at Pomona Raceway. The live auction is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. with most of the top drivers on the NHRA tour confirmed to be in attendance.
In the weeks to come, additional items will be auctioned online. Details will follow as to how fans from around the world can get involved in bidding for many unique pieces of drag racing and motorsport memorabilia.
Fans with tickets can simply enter the Corporate Hospitality Village at their leisure during the race day. Others who wish only to attend the auction can enter the main gate for free after 4:30 p.m.
