Top Fuel driver Scott Weis will preview a Lobster Gram/RaceGirl dragster at the upcoming 40th annual Auto Club of Southern California NHRA Finals in Pomona, Calif.
Currently, Weis is a ninth in the POWERade championship points and he's been a part of the prestigious top 10 for 15 of 22 races this season. He hopes his new deal with Lobster Gram will continue into next season and substantially boost his group's performance.
"We're very excited to have Lobster Gram on board," Weis said. "Their product is awesome too. Who doesn't love fresh lobster? It's a lot of fun to send somebody a box of live lobsters, and even better to receive a box.
"We look forward to a long relationship with Lobster Gram and we intend to maintain our current relationships with RaceGirl and Lucas Oil. Our program should be very stout in 2005 with the help of our marketing partners."
Since 1987, Lobster Gram has been the No. 1 live lobster home-delivery company in the world, shipping live lobster gift packages directly to consumers. The company has packages that include lobsters, shrimp, various other seafood items, steaks, desserts, and side orders. For ordering information, NHRA fans can visit www.LobsterGram.com.
"I'm really proud to be joining the NHRA drag racing family," said Dan Zawacki, founder of Lobster Gram. "Scott Weis and the Weis family are great racers. All of us at Lobster Gram are thrilled to be a part of their team and the sport. I'm sure that once NHRA fans give us a try they'll be fans of Lobster Gram too.
"This is a new audience for us but we're anxious to spread our message and our product line to a more diverse group of folks. We've expanded quite well using radio as our primary platform but I've recently become a big fan of drag racing and I see a tremendous amount of potential with the NHRA."
Weis has raced to three semifinal finishes this season and is confident he can end the season on a high note.
"We really want to give Lobster Gram something to talk about in the off-season with a good showing in Pomona," Weis said.
