Honeywell Consumer Products Group extends multi-level sponsorship program with NHRA
3/24/2004
Honeywell Consumer Products Group has extended its partnership with NHRA, renewing one official sponsorship, adding another and lengthening its title sponsorship of a popular event in the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series, it was announced today by NHRA officials.
As part of the multi-tiered contract, FRAM automotive filters has extended its partnership as the Official Filter of NHRA, while sister brand Prestone has signed an agreement to become the Official Antifreeze/Coolant of NHRA.
As the Official Filter of NHRA, the FRAM brand receives increased visibility at all NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series events. As part of the agreement, FRAM will maintain several ongoing NHRA programs, including primary sponsorship of Rhonda Hartman-Smith's Top Fuel dragster. FRAM also will continue its title sponsorship of the FRAM-Autolite NHRA Nationals, July 30-Aug. 1, 2004, an NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series event at Infineon Raceway, Sonoma, Calif.
"We are proud to be officially linked to one of the most exhilarating sports in the country," said Brian Holliday, vice president of FRAM. "This partnership enhances our relationship with NHRA and gives us a great opportunity to reach out to avid motorsports fans."
As the Official Antifreeze/Coolant of NHRA, the Prestone brand also will receive increased visibility at all NHRA POWERade Series events. As part of the agreement, Prestone will continue its primary sponsorship of John Smith's Top Fuel dragster.
"The Prestone brand has been affiliated with motorsports, and in particular NHRA, for several years. It's exciting to finally make our association formal," said Jeffrey Bye, vice president of Prestone. "By becoming the Official Antifreeze/Coolant of NHRA, we are taking our commitment one step further and letting our customers -- many of whom are racing enthusiasts -- know that as a brand, we have a vested interest in the organization, its drivers and fans."
In addition, the FRAM brand is an active associate sponsor for many NHRA professional teams, including 12-time NHRA Funny Car World Champion John Force. FRAM also participates in NHRA's lucrative contingency program.
"Certainly, Honeywell Consumer Products Group has demonstrated a great ability over the years to effectively utilize NHRA event, team and official sponsorships to promote its products," said Bob Wagner, vice president of sales and business development, NHRA. "We are looking forward to providing the FRAM and Prestone brands optimum marketing value by helping them identify more potential customers through their association with NHRA Drag Racing."
