NHRA Tech Dept. issues notice on AFT clutch usage

8/9/2004

Effective August 9, 2004, the use of the nine-lever AFT clutch with the axial springs (i.e., operating perpendicular to input shaft of the transmission) will be prohibited for use in all NHRA categories.

The NHRA Technical Department has limited the usage of this style of AFT clutch to the six-lever reinforced version only. This change has been mandated based on documented failures of the initial phases of this clutch.

For further clarification, contact the NHRA Technical Department.
