It's hot, muggy, and the track is gooey - it should be an interesting round of Pro Stock Bike! This is Steve Johnson's 17th trip to Indy, he's never won here. Shaun Gann has come close - he's been the runner-up twice.
Johnson got the better light, but Gann had more than enough horsepower to drive by at the 330-foot mark. That is Gann's best pass of the weekend...

Ellis and George Bryce were unable to get their V-Rod started, they were last seen slowly pushing the bike back into the staging area. In round two Angelle will race Bostick, and she will choose which lane to run in.

Brown sends the Army to the semis, if Angelle wins her race the two Army sponsored Suzuki's will battle it out. Antron Brown's MOV: 0.0737 seconds (approximately 19 feet).

(W) Chris Bostick (Greenway Dodge Chrysler Jeep 0.066 7.289 181.74 (L) Angelle Savoie (US Army Suzuki) 0.084 7.330 185.43Savoie's Suzuki bogged badly off the line, recorded a slow 1.155 60-foot time and trailed the rest of the way. Bostick will have lane choice over Brown in the semis.(W) Andrew Hines (Screamin' Eagle Harley) 0.033 7.145 187.96 (L) GT Tonglet (Screamin' Eagle Harley) -0.010(R) 7.613 145.44Tonglet took a shot at the tree and missed by a tiny margin. Hines would have been very tough, that is low ET of elminations for Hines. In the semis Hines will race Gann, and Andrew will have lane choice. 1:53 p.m.

Byron Hines loaned Bostick an engine to compete with, this should be a great drag race.It was a dead heat off the starting line, Brown pulled away steadily from that point.

Both riders had psychic reaction times, It was a dead heat till the 330-foot mark when Gann started to pull out a small margin. Shawn Gann's incremental margins: 60ft(0.004), 330 ft(0.004), 660ft(0.011), 1,000ft(0.014). MOV: 0.0046 seconds (approximately 15 inches).Gann will have lane choice in the final.

Gann followed closely, but couldn't make up the difference gained on the starting line. 4:34 p.m.
