Englishtown, pre-race: Bobby Lagana Jr. returns to NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series competition this weekend at the 35th annual K&N Filters NHRA SuperNationals presented by Strauss Discount Auto. Lagana of nearby Scarsdale, N.Y., will be at the wheel of Darren Bauder's Top Fuel Dragster entry. This will mark the first time since Maple Grove in 2002 that Lagana has competed on the NHRA tour.
Lagana, who most recently has been behind the wheel of the Lagana Racing/DragRacingGirls.com Top Fuel Dragster on the IHRA circuit, is looking forward to returning to NHRA competition at Old Bridge Township Raceway Park.
"I'm really looking forward to returning to NHRA and racing at Englishtown," he said. "It will be awesome to see all of the great fans at Raceway Park again. This will be the first time out with Darren Bauder's new team and we're hoping to have all the bugs worked out so we can make the field."
