White and Etterman part company

09/30/2003

Marc White

NHRA Top Alcohol Funny Car driver/tuner Marc White has announced that he is parting company with current car owners George and Jane Etterman. White has driven for the team since 1998, winning four national events and one Division 3 Championship during his tenure as driver and tuner.

"Both of us had already agreed we were going in different directions next year," said White. "It just got to the point where we decided to end it now so we could both get things in order for next year rather than waiting out the year. We're both on good terms, and I thank the Ettermans for the opportunity they have given me over the past few years. They are good people. Somebody will have a good ride next year."

White, of Glendale Heights, Ill., currently has his eye set on next season.

"I have a few short term deals working right now," stated White. "But me and my brother Tim are actively looking for either an alcohol Funny Car or Dragster team to work for next year, even if it doesn't involve driving. We would be more than happy to take a tuning role if the right job presented itself."
