NHRA looking for more Crate Engine input

3/27/2003

The NHRA Technical department has reviewed racer input regarding the possibility of a new Super Stock GT-style crate engine category in the future. Overall, the majority of racers that responded agreed with the general outline of the rules as proposed.

From the responses, however, two specific items were mentioned in a number of those that need to be further reviewed and considered. These are:

  • The possible inclusion of stick shift cars in the category
  • The use of electronic fuel injection for induction rather than a 750 carburetor.

Therefore, the NHRA Tech department is now asking for further racer input regarding the two issues as outlined above, along with any further suggestions. Should the class include stick cars and should electronic fuel injection be considered instead of a four-barrel carburetor?

    Send your comments to racerinput@nhra.com.
