O'Reilly Sportsman Racer Golf Tournament
3/12/2003
It's time once again to dust off your golf clubs and get your teams together as the fifth annual sportsman golf tournament will be held Wednesday, April 9, at Eagle Pointe Golf Club in conjunction with the O'Reilly Spring Nationals presented by Pennzoil at Houston Raceway Park. Proceeds from the event will go to Big Brothers/Big Sisters and the Sportsman Racing Association.
The event will feature two flights of teams. All competitors, crew, sponsors, and family are invited to play. With the four-person scramble format everyone has a chance to win, so even beginning golfers can compete. The event will also have Longest Drive and Closest To The Pin awards. This golf outing was created to get racers, crew, sponsors, and NHRA staff together off the track for a day of fun and friendship.
DaimlerChrysler South Central Dealers Association has signed as Associate Sponsor and will offer a $30,000 2003 Hemi Quad Cab truck for a hole-in-one. The 12th hole has been selected as the attack point. They also have donated a custom wood trophy for the best Mopar Racer for scratch game and handicap game. In addition are several other prizes connected with the DaimlerChrysler participation will be offered.
Entry forms are being sent to all racers competing at the O'Reilly Spring Nationals. Preference will be given to racers attending the event, but with 144 openings there should be room for other racers. If you would like to enter or be a sponsor, contact the South Central Division office, (936) 856-6958. The deadline to enter the tournament is April 1.
