Etterman Racing signs Bars Leaks as major sponsor

2/14/2003

"We look to be a team to be reckoned with for the World Championship."
– Marc White

Etterman Racing has signed Bars Products as its primary sponsor for the 2003 season. Team driver Marc White believes that the new partnership will make a powerful impact not only on the on-track performance of the Etterman Racing Top Alcohol Funny Car, but in sales of Bars Leaks Products. White will join fellow Bars Leaks Top Alcohol Dragster drivers Bill Reichert and Jeff Bohr in making an all-out assault on the NHRA tour this season.

White, from Glendale Heights, Ill., is excited not only about signing a primary sponsor, but also to be partnered with a company such as Bars Leaks.

"This is really a great day for our team," said White. "It's great anytime you get a big sponsor, but to get a company like Bars Leaks is really awesome. We've seen the support they have given Bill Reichert over the years, so we're really thrilled to have them on board. We know once you join the Bars Leaks team, you become one of the family so to speak."

"We feel like we already had a strong program, this will just take us to the next level. We don't plan on this being a one way deal, however. We're going to do everything in our power to make sure Bars Leaks Products are moving off the shelves, and maybe on to a few new ones."

"Bars Leaks is very please to be associated with Marc and everyone involved with Etterman Racing," stated Pat Ellerholz of Bars Products. "When you have good people representing your company, great things happen! We have watched this team stay in the top ten consistently over the last several years and just could not pass on the opportunity to be part of their team."

White thinks that Bars Products' involvement with the team has increased its chances at winning the season championship.

"With the money it takes to run these days, you almost have to have corporate backing to make a run for the Championship," stated White. "With the support of Bars Leaks, I feel that we are heading in that direction. I don't care what kind of budget you have, I think getting too pumped up about winning the championship at the beginning of the season can be counter productive. We enter every season with the attitude that if you win rounds and win races, the points kind of take care of themselves. So, in that respect, are we looking to win the championship, yes, because we go to every race to win."

"Bars Products not only wants to help Marc and George win their first championship, but this is a great way to advertise our products directly to our customers, the fans of NHRA Drag Racing," added Ellerholz.

White is also excited about hitting the NHRA Division 3 Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series with teammates Reichert and Bohr.

"I think its great to be teamed up with Bill and Jeff," commented White. "Hopefully, the Division 3 winner's circles will be seeing a lot of Bars Leaks in them this year."
