Racer Soundoff: Tow vehicles in Super Comp

4/15/2003

With the 2003 season in full swing, the NHRA Technical department will be conducting opinion polls throughout the season, on some important issues facing drag racing.

This week, the NHRA Technical department is soliciting opinions on the use of tow vehicles in Super Comp. With the recent announcement by the Pacific Division that prohibits the use of full-sized vehicles for towing Super Comp cars, the technical department is interested if this move should be made class-wide.

The usage of full-size vehicles to tow has become a serious safety and operational problem that must be addressed. In the elimination of full-size vehicles, the usage of smaller vehicles (golf carts, four-wheelers) would be allowed as an alternative.

Send your comments on the usage of full-size tow vehicles in Super Comp to racerinput@nhra.com.
