National Trail Raceway
Only Indianapolis Raceway Park and Pomona Raceway have been around longer than National Trail Raceway, which has hosted an NHRA national event in June since 1972. It was here last year that Larry Dixon won Top Fuel for the seventh time in his 10th final round at the 11th race of the year before failing to qualify at the next event in Madison. Ron Capps’ Funny Car win made it a double for team owner Don Prudhomme. Greg Anderson became the second two-time winner of the year in Pro Stock, and Craig Treble looked like a contender for the Pro Stock Bike championship with his third win of the year.
