Historic Pomona Raceway at Fairplex in Pomona, the oldest venue on the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing circuit, has been home to NHRAs season opener since 1961 and to the season-ending Automobile Club of Southern California NHRA Finals since 1984. Last year, Larry Dixon (Top Fuel), John Force (Funny Car), and George Marnell (Pro Stock) became the first to win POWERade national events at the first race of the inaugural POWERade-backed NHRA season. Dixon and Force would end the season as champions. Dixon stopped Kenny Bernstein, Force topped Del Worsham, and Marnell defeated Jim Yates.

HOW TO GET THERE: The track is about 35 miles east of downtown Los Angeles. From Interstate 10 east, exit Fairplex Drive or White Avenue and go north to the track. From I-10 west, exit Fairplex Drive and go north. The track is about one mile north of the interstate. Arrow Highway provides access from the north
Only selected Metrolink trains stop at the Metrolink Fairplex station in Pomona. Please purchase roundtrip ticket if you plan to use metrolink to go home that day. Metrolink's Pomona station, located 1 1/2 miles from the NHRA Fairplex stop, does not provide shuttle service to the NHRA.
