2002 Summit Racing Series

WHAT: Summit Racing Series, where top drivers from NHRA member tracks across the Northwest division compete in four racing classes (Super Pro, Pro, Sportsman and Motorcycle/Snow Mobile) for individual and team honors. The division's High School and Jr. Dragster racers will compete at the event as well. WHERE: Renegade Raceways, Yakima, Wash. Track is located south of Yakima on I-82 at exit 40. WHEN: Friday through Sunday, Sept. 6-8, 2000.
SCHEDULE: Schedule for the Summit Racing Series Northwest Division Finals: PURSE: The Summit Racing Series competitors in Super Pro, Pro, Sportsman and Motorcycle will compete for cash awards of $11,560. The winners in each category will advance to compete against winners from NHRA's other six divisions at the NHRA Finals in Pomona, Calif., in November. They will each receive $3,500 for advancing to the Finals and the winner in each class will receive an additional $5,000. Participants in the High School and Junior categories compete for trophies. 2001 EVENT WINNERS: Firebird Raceway, team champion; John Shaffer (Firebird Raceway), Super Pro; Cory Thompson (Mission Raceway Park), Pro; Gary Fassett (Lost Creek Raceway), Sportsman; Al Omond (Mission Raceway Park), Motorcycle FEATURES: More than 500 drivers in six racing categories: Super Pro (cars running 7.50 seconds to 11.99 seconds), Pro (7.50-13.99), Sportsman (13.00 and slower), Motorcycles (7.50-14.99), High School (11.00 and slower), Jr. Dragster (eight age categories)
