SUMMIT RACING SERIES SOUTH CENTRAL DIVISION FINALS: Fact Sheet WHAT: Summit Racing Series, where top drivers from NHRA member tracks across the South Central division compete in five classes for individual and team honors. Individual champions will advance to a national run-off at the NHRA Auto Club of Southern California Finals at Pomona Raceway in Calif. WHERE: Texas Motorplex, Ennis, Texas. Track is located on Hwy. 287, two miles west of Ennis between Interstates 35 and 45. From Dallas, take I-45 to Hwy. 287 west to the track, or take I-35E to Hwy. 287 east to the track. From Fort Worth, take Hwy. 287 east to Waxahachie toward the track. WHEN: Friday through Sunday, Sept. 27-29, 2002.
SCHEDULE: Time trials schedule for the Summit Racing Series South Central Division Finals:
PURSE: The Summit E.T. Racing Series competitors in Super Pro, Pro, Quick and Street will compete for cash awards of $23,950. The winners in each category will advance to compete against winners from NHRA's other six divisions at the NHRA Finals in Pomona, Calif., in November. They will each receive $3,500 for advancing to the Finals and the winner in each class will receive an additional $5,000. Participants in the High School category compete for trophies. 2001 EVENT WINNERS: Thunder Valley Raceway Park, team champion; Jason Rogers (Texas Motorplex), Super Pro; Jimmy Lewis (Alamo Dragway), Pro; Jeromy Hefler (Paris Dragway), No Electronics Quick; Mark Scott (Thunder Valley Raceway Park), No Electronics Street; Larry Eperjesi, Motorcycle FEATURES: More than 500 drivers in five racing categories: Super Pro (cars running 7.50 seconds to 10.49 seconds), Pro 10.50-13.99), No Electronic Quick (7.00-12.99), No Electronic Street (13.00-19.99); Motorcycle (13.00-19.99), High School (13.00 and slower)
