Sealed Power increases low qualifier payout

02/13/2002

Federal-Mogul Corp. of Southfield, Mich., will increase the Sealed Power Low Qualifier bonus for the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series competitors for the 2002 season. The total amount represents a 35 percent increase in the payouts.

Sponsored by Federal-Mogul's Sealed Power brand, this $220,500 overall bonus fund rewards the low qualifiers at each of the 45 NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series events and 23 NHRA national events. The best performers in each of the five categories will earn a share of the $3,500 offered at each event.

Low qualifiers in Top Alcohol Dragster and Top Alcohol Funny Car will each earn $1,250; competitors in Comp Eliminator and Super Stock will each receive $400; and the No. 1 qualifier in Stock will earn $200. Top Alcohol Dragster and Top Alcohol Funny Car compete at 16 NHRA national events.

"We're pleased to see Federal-Mogul increase the Sealed Power Low Qualifier bonus for our hard-working competitors in the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series," said NHRA President Tom Compton. "The notable commitment that Federal-Mogul has made to our sportsman racers over the years will continue with this outstanding program."
