Saturday Qualifying:

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Bradshaw, Williams continue to lead fields

Douglas, Wyo. - The second and final day of qualifying at the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series race at Douglas International Raceway, presented by Anderson Boneless Beef and Speedway Super Stop ended with Alan Bradshaw and Kirk Williams remaining atop of Top Alcohol Dragster and Top Alcohol Funny Car fields, respectively.

Bradshaw's run on Friday of 6.181 seconds, at 232.27 mph held through Saturday's two qualifying sessions to keep him in the top seat. The Odessa, Texas, resident has competed in three events this year, two national, one divisional event, and posts a 9-2 overall record in eliminations.

Glenwood, Iowa, resident Williams, also led his class through all three rounds. His best run was on his second pass down the quarter-mile as he clocked in at 6.388 seconds, 224.66 mph. This is the first time this year that Williams is the top qualifier entering Sunday's eliminations.

If Williams earns the event win Sunday, he can possibly take the lead in the Top Alcohol Funny Car points standings in the NHRA West Central Division. The Top Alcohol Funny Car racer is currently third behind Cy Chesterman of Sioux City, Iowa, who is not in competition this weekend.

Racers such as Top Alcohol Dragster pilot Bradshaw and Comp racer Snyder, the top qualifiers in their respective categories, will attempt to be the first to earn two event wins in the division Sunday, as eliminations start at 9 a.m. Gates open at 8 a.m., with round one of eliminations for Top Alcohol Dragster and Top Alcohol Funny Car scheduled for noon.
