2003 NHRA AMS Staff Leasing Pro Modified Challenge exhibition set

The National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) has announced its NHRA AMS Staff Leasing Pro Mod Challenge exhibition schedule for 2003, including the addition of a new venue to its 10-race schedule.

The 2003 NHRA AMS Staff Leasing Pro Mod Challenge exhibition will be contested for the first-time at the Lucas Oil NHRA Route 66 Nationals, May 29 - June 1 at Route 66 Raceway in Joliet, Ill. The rest of the 10-race schedule for 2003 will remain the same: Mac Tools NHRA Gatornationals, Gainesville, Fla. (March 13-16), O'Reilly Spring Nationals, Houston (April 10-13), Mac Tools Thunder Valley Nationals, Bristol, Tenn. (April 25-27), Matco Tools SuperNationals, Englishtown, N.J. (May 15-18), Sears Craftsman NHRA Nationals, Madison, Ill. (June 27-29), Mac Tools U.S. Nationals, Indianapolis (Aug. 27-Sept. 1), O'Reilly Mid-South Nationals, Memphis, Tenn. (Sept. 18-21), O'Reilly Fall Nationals, Dallas (Oct. 9-12), and the ACDelco NHRA Las Vegas Nationals (Oct. 23-26).

The NHRA AMS Staff Leasing Pro Mod Challenge exhibitions will be aired as a stand alone show on ESPN2 on a tape-delayed basis and will be produced by Masters Entertainment Group.

The invitation-only exhibitions will feature eight-car fields as set during two qualifying sessions (Friday and Saturday). Sunday final eliminations will feature three rounds to determine a winner.

A special NHRA AMS Pro Mod Challenge Shootout will take place at the O'Reilly Fall Nationals with an additional $10,000 in prize money available to participants, selected by AMS Staff Leasing and subject to NHRA's approval, based on a to-be-determined AMS points system to be announced at a later date.
