3rd Annual

April 4-7
The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway
The first NHRA national event here in 2000 proved that the Las Vegas venue and all that goes along with one of the more exciting cities in the world could support two national events a year. That theory was proven correct in 2001. The first of two events last year was memorable in that it not only was the site of Kenny Bernstein's first Top Fuel win in over a year, but along with his domination of the field, his son, Brandon, won for the first time in Top Alcohol Dragster moments later. It was the first father-son win at the same event. Tommy Johnson Jr. won Funny Car in only his fourth start driving a second car for Don Prudhomme, and Jeg Coughlin Jr. remained undefeated in Pro Stock in Las Vegas with his first win of the year.
