U.S. 131 FMDRS event moved to IRP, Oct. 12-14
06/26/2001
Further delays in construction have changed plans for Martin, Mich.'s U.S. 131 Motor Sports Park 2001 race schedule. In a mutual agreement between U.S. 131, Indianapolis Raceway Park, and the NHRA, the NHRA Federal-Mogul Drag Racing Series event rescheduled for Aug. 10-11 at U.S. 131 will be moved to Indianapolis Raceway Park, Oct. 12-14.
The Sunoco Race Fuels Fall Classic NHRA Federal-Mogul Drag Racing Series event Oct. 12-14 will replace the originally scheduled Fall Classic National Open at Indianapolis. The NHRA Jeg's Super Quick Series portion of the national open, including its special qualifying shootout, will be included with the new event schedule.
With the opening of U.S. 131 Motor Sports Park now slated for April of 2002, the track's 2001 NHRA Summit Racing Series team for the North Central Division Finals will be determined by a lottery draw of their 2000 point series participants.
The NHRA Federal-Mogul Drag Racing Series will return to the renovated facility for the 2002 schedule.
