NHRA has signed Aerospace Components as sponsor for the Outlaw class and all of the heads-up classes at the NHRA Unleashed presented by Lucas Oil events that will take place across the country. The Aerospace Outlaw class features eighth-mile racing for full-bodied, stock-appearing production cars with slight modifications to the vehicle. The heads-up classes are designed for the racer who wants to compete in affordable heads-up racing with full-bodied production-type vehicles.
The class names will be Aerospace Components Outlaw 10.5, Aerospace Components Limited Street, Aerospace Components EZ Street, Aerospace Components 8.5, Aerospace Components 9.0, Aerospace Components 9.5, Aerospace Components 10.0, Aerospace Components 11.0, Aerospace Components 12.0, and Aerospace Components 13.0.

NHRA Unleashed presented by Lucas Oil events will be featured nationwide on Fox Sports Net in a series airing on consecutive weeks in November and December. Two half-hour shows will be produced from each of the four NHRA Unleashed presented by Lucas Oil events, at O’Reilly Raceway Park at Indianapolis (Aug. 6-7), National Trail Raceway near Columbus, Ohio (Sept. 10-11), Gainesville Raceway (Nov. 5-6), and the recently completed event at Atlanta Dragway. The shows will be hosted by Steve Watson and Sarah Karges and produced by Disrupt/ive Studios, producer of Pinks, Pinks All Outtakes, and Pinks All Out.
NHRA Unleashed presented by Lucas Oil will feature Saturday-night-under-the-lights racing that will bring out the best in the racers at each event. They will all be vying for the coveted Wally, one the most coveted trophies in all of motorsports.
The NHRA Unleashed presented by Lucas Oil events also will include casting auditions for Who Wants to Be a Race Car Driver?, a new reality television show that will identify America’s next great race car driver. Interested participants attending the event will be ushered through interviews and on-camera auditions for the show, currently in the developmental stages. Those selected for the show will prove that they have the drive, ambition, and desire to become the next great race car driver. Signage will be clearly posted throughout the event to direct candidates to the staging areas.
