Candlewood Suites extends Kalitta Motorsports sponsorship for another two years

Candlewood Suites, IHG’s midscale extended-stay brand, has announced that it will rejoin Kalitta Motorsports in a two-year sponsorship as a major associate and primary sponsor for the team in the 2012 NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series.

“Last season was Candlewood Suites' very first sponsorship. Kalitta Motorsports is a fantastic partner, and we have been so pleased with the results, the brand has decided to extend the sponsorship another two years,” said Del Ross, IHG vice president, Americas sales and marketing. “This sponsorship drives business into IHG properties and delivers terrific awareness of the Candlewood Suites brand, which is perfect since many of their current guests are already racing fans.”

The Candlewood Suites logo will be prominently displayed on all four of the Kalitta Motorsports race cars, including the Technicoat Top Fuel dragster driven by Doug Kalitta, the DHL Toyota Camry Funny Car driven by Jeff Arend, and the Tequila Patron Toyota Camry Funny Car driven by rookie of the year contender Alexis DeJoria. The primary sponsorship on the David Grubnic-driven Top Fuel dragster kicks off at the SummitRacing.com NHRA Nationals in Las Vegas.

Candlewood Suites’ primary sponsorship on the Grubnic-driven Top Fueler will include four events in 2012:
• SummitRacing.com NHRA Nationals, Las Vegas – March 30-April 1
• O’Reilly Auto Parts NHRA Spring Nationals presented by Super Start Batteries, Houston – April 27-29
• Dollar General NHRA Summernationals, Topeka – May 18-20
• O’Reilly Auto Parts NHRA Nationals presented by Super Start Batteries, Charlotte – Sept. 14-16
