Eric Medlen Golf Tournament looking for players, sponsors

The 4th annual Eric Medlen Memorial Golf Tournament hosted by Morgan Lucas Racing and benefiting Peyton Manning Children's Hospital is looking for players and sponsors for its Aug. 30 event at Eagle Creek Golf Club.

"I can’t believe how much this tournament has grown since we started it a few years ago," said Lucas, driver of the GEICO/Lucas Oil Top Fuel dragster. "For fans, it's a great way to have some fun with their favorite NHRA stars, and for us drivers, it's a nice way for us to relax before the pressure of racing in the Mac Tools U.S. Nationals."

The tournament is seeking individual players, foursomes, and sponsors. Donations are $125 per player, and sponsorships ranging from $250 to $3,500 are available. Drivers who have played in the tournament in the past include Brandon Bernstein, Shawn Langdon, Jeff Arend, and Melanie Troxel.

"We'll have a longest-drive deal and closest-to-the-pin contest," Lucas said. "After we get done golfing, we'll have some good food, awards, and the crazy live auction for some great memorabilia and other items and experiences. It's always a blast."
